United Kingdom Foreign Minister Dominic Raab called Western countries to cooperate with Russia and China to have a restraining influence on the Taliban (a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia). His words leads Reuters.
The head of the British Foreign Ministry stressed that such cooperation is necessary to prevent the crisis in the region, despite the inconvenience and distrust between the United Kingdom and the governments of these states. Among countries capable of providing a pacifying effect on the Taliban, he also called India and Pakistan.
In addition, Raab noted that the United Kingdom initiated a meeting of the UN Security Council with the prospect of creating an international contact group in Afghanistan. In his opinion, the formation of such a group will make it harder to influence the militants of radical movement.
Previously, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson did not rule out the possibility of cooperation between the United Kingdom with the Taliban.
