In Russia abolished mandatory inspection for CTP

In Russia, from 22 August to take effect the new rules for MTPL policy. Drivers no longer need to provide a document on passing inspection when they enter into an agreement on compulsory insurance. This document is published on the official web-portal of legal information.

Mandatory inspection for CTP was excessive measure and its abolition is the right decision, the chairman of the Movement of Russian Motorists Viktor Pohmelkin. It is noted that the absence of an instrument of technical inspection will not cause penalties if the car gets into an accident.

With the new law, the authorities want to defeat the illegal business. Head of the Committee of the lower house of parliament on financial markets Anatoly Aksakov said that the decision was supported by all participants of the market.

Another problem is the lack of service stations that meet the requirements of the law, said the deputy. “As a result, people are once again forced to buy diagnostic cards,” – said Aksakov. These factors have an incentive to make this June of amendments to the law “On Road Traffic Safety”.
