Commanders of crews of ISS-66 passed exams by manual dynamic modes

The exam on manual mooring and reloading the transport manned ship “Soyuz MS” on a specialized simulator DON-Soyuz passed the commander of the main crew of the ISS-66, astronaut Roscosmos Anton Sluffers, and his Dubler Oleg Artemyev.

In the process of examining training, the astronauts were performed in four modes, the first of which is a reloading from a single docking unit of the Russian segment of the International Space Station to another. This is a regular mode that is always implemented manually. The crew commanders should be able to carry out the ships to the nodes of domestic modules, which are already part of the ISS or arrive during their expedition to orbit.

In contrast to the reloading, the mooring implies the emergence of abnormal situations that, for example, can happen at the moment when the cosmonauts have fulfilled the flight station, are located opposite the docking unit and are already starting to moor. On the exam, it is necessary to recognize an abnormal situation and demonstrate the commissions to the algorithm of action to exit. The difficulty adds the fact that one of the moisters is performed in the shade. Nevertheless, the MKS-66 crew commanders successfully coped with the tasks set.

During the exam, the astronauts demonstrated important skills that need to be constantly maintained to cope with a possible abnormal situation.

“Unfortunately, this happens. At one time, due to the automation failure, when the Soyuz ship is moored to the ISS, Yuri Malenchenko had to hold his docking with the station in manual mode. At that time, he made his sixth flight as the commander of the Soyuz TMA-19M ship and, being a very experienced cosmonaut, saved the crew from serious danger, “said Oleg Artemyev, the commander of the Duplicate crew of the ISS-66.

The current examination session is characteristic of the fact that the crew commanders perform the tasks alone, they do not have flights. Space Flight participants – Calling “Calling” film crew – train with astronauts, but together to take exams will begin in September 2021. To the commander of the main crew of the ISS-66, Anton Zavoklerov will join Julia Peresilde and Klim Shipenko, and Oleg Artemyev – Alena Mordovin and Alexey Dudin. These will be comprehensive exam training before shipping crews on Baikonur. The start of the ship “Union MS-19” is scheduled for October 2021.
