Height of ISS orbits will be 1.2 km away

For the formation of ballistic conditions before the start of the transport piloted ship “Union MS-19” and the landing of the Soyuz MS-18, on August 21, 2021, the next correction of the height of the orbit of the International Space Station is scheduled.

According to preliminary data of the Ballistic-navigation and navigation provisional service center of TsNIIMASH flights (part of Roskosmos State Corporation), at 07:04 Moscow time will be issued a team on the inclusion of the engines of the service module “Star” of the Russian Segment of the ISS, which will work 50 seconds. After the adjusting maneuver, the height of the station orbits will increase by 1.2 km.

Parameters of the ISS orbit after the adjusting maneuver:

  • Couch period: 92.93 min;
  • Outstanding orbit: 51.66 degrees;
  • Minimum orbit height: 420,56 km;
  • Maximum Orbit Height: 437.1 km.
