Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Ministry) and a member of the first five to the candidates of the State Duma from the United Russia party Sergey Lavrov said that in matters of refugee reception, Russia will be guided by his obligations under international humanitarian law. “We are guided exclusively by our international obligations under international humanitarian law,” Lavrov stressed, commenting on the question whether Russia will take refugees from Afghanistan.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry called for all parties to the Afghan conflict “to an urgent transition to a nationwide dialogue.”
Previously, the US Department of State published a document in which 60 countries of the world called for secure exit from Afghanistan foreign citizens and Afghans who want to leave the country.
