Cosmonaut complained about creaking loops of Russian “Science”

Loops of a multifunctional laboratory module (MLM) “Science”, docked to the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS), creak and plunge other sounds, reports RIA Novosti, referring to organized NASA broadcasting of the negotiations of the crew members with land organized by NASA.

“Could you ask someone who has, lubricate the loops in the cabin crew MLM? Because they will creak so loudly, that almost the rest of the noise at the station will mule,” one of the astronauts complained.

In August, the cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky noticed that at the entrance to the cabin module, metal structures stick out to which once, according to a crew member, was something fixed. Novitsky noticed that these elements seem to do not perform any functions, interfere with moving inside the module.

In the same month, NASA reported that unplanned inclusion of MLM engines after accession to the Russian segment of the ISS led to a change in overall orientation in the latter space by 540 degrees (full turnover).

In July, Novitsky said that when opening a hatch “Science”, a bolt flew out of the latter.

In the same month, RIA Novosti, referring to the negotiations of astronauts with the center of flight management (CUP), reported that the engines “science” docked to the ISS, earned unplanned. The reason for this in “Roskosmos” was called a short-term software failure.

MLM docked to the ISS on July 29. On it, “Science” took the place of the Pierce module, which, with the help of the “Progress MS-16” cargo ship, was reflected from the Russian station segment.
