US government prosecuted BLM activists

The Federal Government of the United States pursued protesting activists of the Black Lives Matter movement (BLM) with the help of hard criminal cases in an attempt to disrupt their activities. This is stated in the new report of the organization “Movement for the Life of Black Lives”, the results of which publishes The Guardian.

According to the report, the persecution of protesters continued during the last year in order to undermine their activities that came out far beyond the country. The key conclusion of the report lies in the fact that the motivation to the use of federal accusations against the protesters proceeded from the administration of the former president of Donald Trump and the former Prosecutor General of William Barra. In criminal cases of detainees were described as “radical and aggressive agitators”, although it did not correspond to reality.

“We really want to show how the US government continues to pursue the movement of blacks by observing, criminalizing protests and the use of the criminal law system to prevent them and punish them for participating in them, trying to limit all actions,” the political research coordinator of the organization of Amara said Aliya (Amara Enyia).

she added that racism in the United States “is structurally embedded in the fabric of this country and its institutions,” therefore it is so difficult to eradicate. The report also called for an amnesty of all participants in nationwide protests.

Black Lives Matter (“Life of Black Life”) appeared in 2013, and in 2020, it became world famous against the background of high-profile protests in the United States after killing the Miners of the African America George Floyd. BLM participants require systematic changes and believe that Floyd’s murder is associated with racist prejudices in society.
