Unstable political situation in Afghanistan threatens the security of Central Asian countries. This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev at a meeting with a special representative of the European Union (EU) on Central Asia Teri Khakala, writes TASS.
According to him, the coming to power representatives of the “Taliban” radical movement (prohibited in Russia) and the submission of public order in Afghanistan followed above all burdens the leaders of the Central Asian republics.
He explained that in relations with the Taliban they will have to make difficult solutions and act carefully to ensure stability in the region.
During the conversation, the parties confirmed their readiness to oppose the arising risks to preserve the stability of the region, and also spoke in favor of early restoration of stability and public order throughout Afghanistan.
Previously, Tokayev instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MID) of the Republic to take measures to evacuate citizens from the captured by the Taliban of Afghanistan. According to him, now there are about 200 ethnic Kazakhs in the country, who expressed a desire to return to their homeland. The representative of the foreign policy department also stressed that Kazakhstan at the moment does not consider the issue of placement on its territory of Afghan refugees.
On August 15, the militants of the Radical Movement “Taliban” reported control over the entire territory of Afghanistan. The radicals noted that in the near future will be announced the creation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Immediately after this country began an emergency evacuation of their diplomats and citizens from Afghanistan. To leave the country also began the Afghans themselves who do not want to live under the authority of the Taliban.
