Biden explained forecast of US intelligence in Afghanistan Taliban

US President Joe Biden spoke about the forecasts of the country’s intelligence in Afghanistan. He stated this in an interview with ABC TV channel.

According to him, the intelligence services were inclined to the fact that the Taliban movement (a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia) can seize power in Afghanistan closer to the end of the year. At the same time, the head of state noted that there was no consensus forecast for the country’s fall.

Previously, Biden called the inevitable chaos, which arose during the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan. “The idea that somehow has a way to get out without subsequent chaos – I don’t know how it happens,” said the president. According to him, the likelihood of such developments was taken into account when making a decision on the withdrawal of troops.

May 1 began the official conclusion of US troops and the North Atlantic Alliance countries from the Afghan territories. After that, the situation in the country was aggravated, the forces of the Taliban were activated. On August 15, the militants announced the establishment of control throughout Afghanistan. President Ashraf Gani left the country.
