Money from main Russian “Cube” will spend on metro wagons

Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Belflov discussed in the Office of the Government of Russia Preparation of an application for the use of the National Welfare Fund (FNB) to update the metro wagons. This is reported on the official website of the city administration.

St. Petersburg will be one of the first regions, at the request of which the FNB funds will be spent performing the function of the main Russian “Cube”. The government will allocate 97 billion rubles from the Foundation to buy 950 metro wagons.

On July 25, a meeting was held on the development of the St. Petersburg Transport Knot with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which Belflov asked to highlight the FNB funds to update the car park. The governor said that 40 percent of the metro wagons continue to be used, despite the expired 30-year service life.

In early June at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PMEF), Vladimir Putin, answering the question of the moderator, said that Cubia was already uncovered, since hundreds of billions of rubles were directed to infrastructure projects. The president called this approach is economically right.

In mid-July, 1.5 trillion rubles from the Fund decided to start building 735 civilians: IL-114, MS-21 and Baikal, Sukhoi Superjet 100, L-410, as well as several types of helicopters. In the Ministry of Industry, it is believed that, thanks to this airline with a state institution, new Russian aircraft will be purchased.
