Hundreds of Afghans protest from the European Commission building in the center of Brussels. It is reported by RIA Novosti Correspondent in the capital of Belgium.
They came out to draw the attention of the European Community to the situation in Afghanistan, as well as to the problems of Afghan refugees, forced to leave the country. The rally takes place on Schuman Square, where the main EU institutions are located. One of the protesters said that the Afghans should “return the President of Ashraf Gani.”
The participants of the action say that the arrival of the “Taliban” movement (prohibited in the Russian Federation) to power in Afghanistan will destroy the latest hopes of Afghans to build a secular state. They also stated that the last 20 years of the US and NATO war with terrorists in the Afghan land can become in vain.
Earlier in the European Parliament called Europe countries to prepare for the wave of refugees from Afghanistan. Also in the European Union stated that Brussels will support all organizations of the organization that will accept Afghan refugees. At the moment, the EU sees its goal to the evacuation of citizens of member countries, as well as Afghans who collaborated with the Governments of the European Association.
On August 15, the Taliban did not occupy Kabul, announced the complete control over the territory of Afghanistan and raised their flag over the presidential palace. In the “Taliban” stated that the country will be managed under the laws of Sharia. President Gani escaped in the UAE, taking with him, according to some data, a large amount of money stolen from the state treasury.
