Scientists from the Institute of Solk’s Biological Research in California found out that the interval starvation not only helps to get rid of excess weight, but also makes the body stronger, reported in the article in the Cell Reports scientific journal.
Specialists conducted an experiment on mice to learn what influence is an interval fasting for the work of the body. Rodents fed products with high concentration of fats and sugar for nine hours per day, and everything else was hungry. At the same time, scientists regularly carried out the chemical composition of the liver, blood glucose levels and the assessment of the total muscular mass in mice.
As a result of the study, American scientists revealed the benefit of interval starvation. It turned out that it helps to maintain a lower blood sugar level, and also allows you to normalize it after possible deviations. In addition, the advantages of this method of nutrition include the protection of the body from infectious diseases. In the case of sepsis, the interval starvation is able to prevent the development of the disease to death.
“The main result of many clinical studies of interval fasting (TRE) is weight loss, but we found that the interval fasting is useful not only for metabolic diseases, but also to increase insulin resistance and resistance to infectious diseases,” said Professor of Biology Satchidananda Panda Satchidananda Panda.
Earlier, Canadian scientists found out that starvation is useful in combating infections. Therapeutic starvation or decrease in calorie diet can fight infectious intestinal diseases.
