More than 80 percent of passengers will begin to use biometry by 2035

More than 80 percent of automobile, rail and air transport passengers in Russia will have to provide their biometric data for the passage by 2035. This is stated in the project strategy project until 2030, TASS reports.

“80 percent is the share of suburban passengers, long-distance and international automobile, rail and air transport identified by biometrics,” the document says.

It is noted that this will increase the convenience of passengers and the level of security. It is also planned that by 2035, 30 percent of public transport will become unmanned in the 20 largest cities of Russia, and the share of unmanned cargo transportation on major highways will increase to 50 percent.

Earlier in the Ministry of Media proposed to allow the collection of biometrics to identify a number of persons. Such cases included identification of taxi and carcherling drivers. Also in the department proposed to provide access to the territory of organizations, in particular, the financial market that have “control and access control systems”.
