The majority of Americans were in favor of strict quarantine measures against the background of the deteriorating situation with COVID-19. They believe that a mandatory vaccination at the state level, as well as the introduction of the mask mode to allow schools in revitalizing the country’s economy. It is reported portal Axios.

The authors of the survey say greater differentiation between the views of supporters of different parties. If among Democrats the most stringent anti-viral action support 92 percent of voters, among Republicans the figure is only 44 percent. Total for coercive measures are the 69 percent of US citizens.

According to the study authors, supporters of the Republican Party are less aware of the real nature of coronavirus pandemic. Republicans are also critical of a compulsory vaccination. The greatest conservatism were noted residents of the Midwest.

As of August 18 in the United States identified more than 37.1 million cases of coronavirus infection. The number of deaths was more than 638,000 (two per cent).
