Kazakhstan President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic to take measures to evacuate citizens from the captured by the Taliban of Afghanistan. This is reported by TASS with reference to the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of Aybek Smatokarov.
According to him, about 200 ethnic Kazakhs continue to be in the country, who expressed a desire to return to their homeland. Smatarov noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had already sent an instructions to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Kabul to organize the evacuation of people. It will be possible to proceed to the removal of citizens after creating a safe conditions at the airport of the Afghan capital.
The representative of the foreign policy department also stressed that Kazakhstan at the moment does not consider the issue of placement on its territory of Afghan refugees.
On August 15, the militants of the “Taliban” radical movement (prohibited in Russia) reported control over the entire territory of Afghanistan. The radicals noted that in the near future will be announced the creation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Immediately after this country began an emergency evacuation of their diplomats and citizens from Afghanistan. To leave the country also began the Afghans themselves who do not want to live under the authority of the Taliban.
On August 18, Uzbekistan temporarily posted about 650 Afghan army soldiers who escaped from the Taliban authorities, in the COVID center near the local military landfill. Also, the authorities of the republic agreed to put in a tent camp near the border of about 150 Afghan refugees, among which there are women and children.
