Afghanistan: UN Mission will be resumed

UN Mission to promote Afghanistan (UNAMA) is preparing to resume work in such Afghan cities as Jellabad, Kandahar and Kunduz. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press secretary of the Russian Embassy in Kabul Nikita Ishchenko.

He noted that the flight of the Russian airline Utair, who arrived from Moscow to Kabul, chartered the UN to transport new employees to Afghanistan. The press secretary added that the work of the mission is resumed due to the stabilization of the situation in the country.

Previously, there were reports that the airline Utair, which arrived from Moscow, landed at the Kabul airport. In Vnukovo, from where the flight went to Afghanistan there was no information about him. The Russian and Afghan media also did not publish reports on the preparing flight from Russia to Kabul.

On July 30, it became known that an unknown group was fired by the UN Mission Building in the Afghan city of Herat. The attackers used grenade launchers and artillery. As a result, one policeman was killed. The suspicion of employees of the organization fell on the radical movement “Taliban” (prohibited in Russia).
