Estonia will establish a monument to anti-Soviet rebels

In the village of weak in the south of Estonia, a monument to “forest brothers” will be installed. This is reported by Telegram-channel Sputnik Meedia.

The monument is a wooden sculpture, which depicts three anti-Soviet rebels carrying a woman with the Estonian flag in his hands.

It is reported that the opening of the Memorial will be held on August 22.

“forest brothers” informally call the underground armed formations of nationalists who operated in the 1940-1950s in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. They opposed the Soviet power and fought for the restoration of the independence of the Baltic republics, which was lost after joining the USSR. As a result of post-war collisions, more than 25 thousand people were killed with militants, including peaceful citizens.
