Afghan Military aircraft Embraer and Uzbek MiG-29 collided on August 15 in the sky over Uzbekistan. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan.
According to the department, on 14 and 15 August, the airspace of the republic illegally crossed 22 military aircraft and 24 helicopters from Afghanistan. They transported servicemen who fled from the country after the capture of power by the militants of the Taliban movement (prohibited in the Russian Federation). For control and maintenance of aircraft, fighters of Uzbekistan Air Force were raised.
“However, during the observation, the Embrayer-314 aircraft and MiG-29 collided and crashed in Sherabad district of the Surkhandarya region. Pilots of these aircraft landed on parachutes,” the prosecutor’s office says.
