President Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev did not make a decision on the placement of Afghan refugees in the country. This was announced by the spokesman for the head of the republic Berik Wali on his page in Facebook .
The president’s press service responded to rumors about arriving in Shymkent of the first refugees from Afghanistan and stressed that the dissemination of such information is inappropriate.
According to Wali, the Kazakh authorities are ready to assist only United Nations staff (UN), if its leadership will apply to the republic.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Ministry) commented on the possibility of fleeing to the country of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani. There noted that the Afghan leader is not in the territory of the republic.
On August 15, the militants of the Radical Movement “Taliban” (prohibited in Russia) reported the control of the entire territory of Afghanistan. The radicals noted that in the near future will be announced the creation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
