Militants of the Taliban radical movement (prohibited in Russia) would begin an offensive in Afghanistan, even if Washington had not decided to bring American troops from the country. So for accusations of the care of Americans from Afghanistan, US Secretary of State Ethoni Blinken answered during the CNN interview, reports TASS.
According to Blinken, the US Army was in Afghanistan primarily in order to eliminate a terrorist threat in the region – this goal was achieved. In addition, the Secretary of State, Washington stressed during his presence invested billions of dollars to strengthen the country’s armed forces and equipped them with the “most advanced weapons.”
Politician also noted that the United States would be unprofitable to continue to leave their military in Afghanistan, as it would be on the hand of Washington’s strategic rivals. “I think that most of our strategic rivals in the world would most like that we stay in Afghanistan for another year, for ten years, for ten years,” he explained.
The official conclusion of US troops and the North Atlantic Alliance countries from the Afghan territories began on May 1. US President Joe Biden stated that the American army completely opens Afghanistan by September 11. After that, the Taliban began a rapid offensive in the position of the Afghan army. On August 15, the movement stated that it established control over the entire territory of the country.
