Chubais stated mistakes in economic reforms of 1990s

The team that built the market economy in Russia in the 1990s made many mistakes. This was stated by the Special Representative of the President of Russia for Relations with International Organizations to achieve the goals of sustainable development Anatoly Chubais in Facebook .

Politician reminded that 35 years ago, a group of “young and jog economists” gathered in the Snake Gorka student camp and began planning the transition from the planned economy of the USSR to the Market Economic Approach of the Russian Federation.

Chubais stressed that the command of the reformers did not understand much and could not foresee all potential difficulties. “I now believe that we haven’t spent full-fledged work on mistakes. But the market economy was still built,” he stressed.

August 10, Chubais called the climate change prospects in the most important challenge for Russia. He stated that the last few years prospects for environmental change “are becoming increasingly gloomy”, and called the forecast from the United Nations (UN) in this area “completely frightening.”
