Baikonur completed assembly of RNG “Soyuz-2.1b” with oneWeb

In the assembly and test case of the Baikonur cosmodrome on August 13, 2021, specialists of subsidiaries of the state corporation “Roskosmos” – South Space Center (branch of the center of exploitation of land-based space infrastructure) and a branch of the Progress Rocket and Space Center – completed the overall rocket assembly Space destination Soyuz-2.1B / Frigate / OneWeb in the framework of Mission number 35.

In accordance with the schedule of works on August 12, the cosmic head (overclocking “Frigate” and OneWeb devices under the flaps of the fairing) with the third stage of the Soyuz-2.1b missile are docked. The next day, this assembly was dragged to the “package” of the first two stages of the carrier. Upon completion of this operation, an electrical compound assembly was built and pipelines for thermostatization.

Currently, the space for space is set to the installation unit before exporting to the starting complex of the site No. 31. No comments on the preparation of compound parts are not available. For tomorrow, on August 14, a meeting of the State Commission is scheduled for readiness for the removal of rockets on the starting complex.

Start of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with an overclocking unit “Frigate” and a party from 34 new Space devices of OneWeb is scheduled for August 20, 2021 at 01:23 Moscow time. The launch will be held in the framework of the execution of the contracts of Glavkosmos (a subsidiary of Roskosmos) with the European Provider of the Arianespace launching services (Operator of the ONEWEB spacecraft using the Soyuz-2 carrier missile) and Starsem.

ONEWB satellites are designed to create a space system of communication, providing high-speed Internet access anywhere in the planet. The orbital group will consist of 18 planes of 36 devices in each.
