Researchers from the Philippines and Sweden found the presence of the representatives of the indigenous nationality Aita Magonkon DNA Denisovsky – the largest among people at the moment. The article of scientists has been published in the journal Current Biology.
His goal of scientists put the establishment of the demographic history of the Philippines. They managed to collect and analyze 2.3 million genotypes of 1107 representatives of 118 ethnic groups of the islands. According to them, researchers managed to restore the history of the mixing of modern and ancient people, including Denisovsky – a extinct subspecies of people whose remains were first discovered in the Denisian cave in Altai.
At one of the groups – Luzon Luzon Aita Magbukon – specialists found a significant presence of DNA Denisovsky. This “inheritance” they have 30-40 percent more than the Australian Aborigines or residents of New Guinea, who had previously been recorded the greatest percentage of Denis DNA.
Probably, the ancestors of Aita Magkkonon on arrival at the territory of the current Philippines were mixed with the island populations of Denisovsky that existed at that time. However, unlike other nations, Aita Magonkon further was almost not mixed with anyone than and can explain such a high proportion of Denisovsky DNA.
