Scientists have declared an unexpected cause of drug addiction in children

Children who go early in the first class, are more likely to learn badly, and in his youth will begin to suffer from drug addiction or alcoholism, writes Daily Mail.

British scientists of the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neurobiology of the Royal College of London in collaboration with Swedish colleagues from the Caroline Institute and University of Erebro came to the conclusion that children who appeared in the summer, and being the most small in the class, suffer from attention deficit syndrome and hyperactivity. They will most likely show bad results in training and socialization. Specialists connect this with the unwillingness of such first-graders to school, as well as difficulties in adaptation. For example, a child may not accept peers, since he is almost a year behind his classmates. According to researchers, early development sometimes harms a child.

“In the early stages of childhood, a significant difference in terms of maturity, behavior and cognitive abilities,” explained one of the authors of the scientific work of Johnn Kunzi.

Researchers studied data about 300 thousand Swedes, which appeared from 1990 to 1997. All volunteers watched from birth to 23 years old. The study made it possible to reveal the unexpected cause of drug addiction in children.

Children with attention deficit syndrome and hyperactivity had a 23 percent risk of psychoactive substances, a 12 percent risk of failure. Children without such a diagnosis almost twice as less often succumbed to drugs or alcohol (14 percent), by 17 percent more often suffered by depressions. At the same time, the “summer children” in adulthood were less than depressed.

Researchers have added that the results of scientific work are faithful for all countries, since there are different education systems in states.
