Audi created a car transformer

New Audi Concept – Electrocar of the Future. Bloomberg said that the company created a transformer car, which can be turned from a sports car into an elegant tourist with one click.

The new Audi Skysphere model is an electric roadster with a retro-style door resembling a carriage. Its most remarkable feature is the ability to shorten and lengthen the wheelbase.

Design offers the driver two driving options. In autonomous mode, Skysphere is becoming a 5.19-meter electric car with a maximum foot space and additional integrated digital ecosystem services. In this mode, the steering wheel and pedals are hidden in a special niche. The driver can choose the mode of movement by pressing the button. In the “shortened” form, the car decreases in length for 25 centimeters and the steering wheel, pedals and gearbox appear from under the dashboard. Only in this form, the driver can control them as an ordinary modern machine.

The head of the Audi Malibu Design Loft unit Gael Bузин reported that such a transforming design would never be possible on the chassis adjusted under the internal combustion engine. “Electrification is the best thing that happened with the car design,” he says.

The car engine provides a capacity of 465 kilowatt (623 horsepower) with the weight of the entire car in 1800 kilograms and can accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in four seconds.

The interior of the Skysphere model is focused on autonomous driving of the fourth level, in which the driver can delegate the full responsibility for the movement of the car system. Seat covered with microfiber cloth, and the details of the eucalyptus eucalyptus create an atmosphere of a cozy living room.

In the interior of the car primarily attracts attention to a large touchscreen monitor of 55 inches, located on the dashboard. On it you can watch movies, connect to the Internet or communicate via video link.

Audi allocated 15 billion euros for electrifying the entire fleet and by 2025 promises to offer 20 new eco-friendly models.
