A citizen of Great Britain detained in Germany on suspicion of espionage to Russia. This is reported on the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the FRG.
On August 10, the federal criminal police officers detained the British named David S. in Potsdam. In his house and in the workplace – the British Embassy in Berlin – searches were made. According to the German authorities, David works for Russian special services.
The suspect received a remuneration for the transmission of information, one way or another associated with its activities in the embassy, at least once. The amount is not yet known.
The Prosecutor General’s Office emphasized that the arrest was the result of a joint investigation of the German and British authorities.
So far, Moscow did not comment on what is happening.
