Latvia will answer calmness to “hybrid attacks” from Belarus

Latvia’s authorities should keep calm in the reflection of “hybrid attacks” by Belarus, which uses illegal migrants as revenge for the sanctions of the European Union countries (EU). This was stated by Prime Minister of the Republic of Krishianis Karins, reports Telegram-channel Baltnews.

According to him, such a tactic will be the best answer from the Latvian government. Karinsh is confident that the calm attitude of Latvians to the problem will demonstrate all the uselessness of the provocative actions of Minsk, which will subsequently force him to abandon his venture.

The minister added that in the event of the illegal penetration of refugees into the territory of Latvia, border guards follow the example of neighboring Lithuania and will be expelled back to the territory of Belarus. In addition, he noted, the help of Latvia in resolving the migration crisis will provide EU.

Previously, the authorities of Latvia announced the introduction from August 11 to November 10, the regime of an emergency (emergency) in the areas border with Belarus due to the influx of illegal migrants. A decree on the introduction of the emergency regime will oblige the army and the police to assist border guards in the capture of migrants and the protection of the countries of the country from the experts from the outside, and will also attract additional funds from the budget.

On August 10, the head of the border guard of the Republic of Guntis Puints said that large groups of illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa began to penetrate the territory of Belarus in Latvia. He noted that over the past day, the security forces detained about 200 refugees.

In the current situation, the Lithuanian authorities, Latvia and other countries accused Belarus and personally the President of the Republic of Alexander Lukashenko, who allegedly performs “hybrid attacks” to Europe with illegal migrants. It is assumed that for migrant moving from the Middle East to the borders of European countries, the Belarusian authorities use their national tour operator “Centerkurort”.
