On Baikonur, Space Head of RKN “Soyuz-2.1b” is collected

The Baikonur cosmodrome completes the assembly of the cosmic head part in the composition of the OneWeb devices, an overclocking block “Frigate” and the head fairing. Operations for docking took place in the installation and test case No. 112 of the Baikonur cosmodrome and lasted five days.

In the work, specialists of the South Sports Center (branch of the Center for Exploid Space Infrastructure), the Scientific and Production Association named after SA Lavochka and the Progress Rocket and Space Center (Roscosmos State Corporation).

In the process of assembly on a bundle of 34 spacecraft with an overclocking unit “Frigate”, the sash of the head fairing was installed, after which there were checks of telemetry sensors and pickets of the fairing. The next step of preparation for the start – transportation of the head part on the technical complex of the site No. 31 for the general assembly with the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket.

Running 34 ONEWEB spacecraft is scheduled for August 20, 2021 from the starting complex “East” platform 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome.
