Guinea: first death case was recorded from incurable fever

Gwini’s authorities recorded the first death case from the hemorrhagic fever of Marburg, which is currently incurable. This is stated in the statement of the World Health Organization (WHO), RIA Novosti reports.

The case of an extremely infectious fever is detected in the Giveau province, where a few years ago, hemorrhagic ebol fever also revealed. At the moment, the samples were investigated in two laboratories, as well as sent to the Pasteur Institute in Senegal, where the disease was confirmed.

As reported by WHO, the fever Marburg belongs to the family of the same viruses, which lead to Ebola infection, and is transmitted in the same way. Prior to this case, the infection of this virus was identified in Angola, Congo, Kenya, South Africa and Uganda.

In February, four deaths of Ebola fever were recorded in Guinea for the first time since 2016. Female outcomes were in the southeastern province of Nzerkeore.

Ebola Fever Epidemic in West Africa began in February 2014 in Guinea. She then went beyond the country and spread to Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Senegal and Mali. Cases of the disease were also recorded in a number of European countries and in the United States. Over 30 thousand people were infected with the virus, more than 12 thousand of them died.
