In Poland, ready to cancel the judicial reform at the request of the European Union. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of the country and the leader of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party “Law and Justice” Yaroslav Kaczynsky, reports RMF24.
This is about the abolition of the disciplinary chamber, which, according to the plan of Polish authorities, should control the activities of judges. According to Kaczynski, the requirement of the European Union is illegal, as it violates the national sovereignty. However, the creation of a judge supervision authority caused disputes in Polish society, which must be resolved.
Deputy Prime Minister also noted that Warsaw intended to cancel the action of the new reform before the official requirement of the European Union. Moreover, the government has a ready-made document regulating this process. However, as the Deputy Prime Minister said, it should still be taken in a legitimate order.
July 15, the Court issued a resolution, according to which the Polish authorities should abolish the disciplinary chamber. According to the EU, such an organ “is not protected from the direct and indirect influence of Polish legislative and executive power.” Also in the European Commission stated that the supervision of the work of the judges violates the EU legislation.
