Germany: demanded from Belarus’s honest presidential election

The German government demanded from the authorities to carry out honest presidential elections. This was stated by the representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers Ulrik Demer, reports TASS.

Politician noted that the elections of 2020, which defeated the current president, Alexander Lukashenko, were not free and led to the strengthening of repression against citizens of the country. “Arrests, abductions, torture and fear have become everyday, tool, with which Lukashenko regime keeps for power,” she emphasized.

Demmer concluded that Berlin fully supports the people of Belarus in his “fearless desire for democracy, freedom and political self-determination.” According to her, the authorities of the republic are obliged to stop repressions and establish an open dialogue with the population.

Earlier it was reported that the largest fraction of the European Parliament called on leaders of the European Union member countries (EU) to the organization of the revolution in Belarus. “The regime will fall, and the victory of the people is inevitable – it is only a matter of time. The EU should prepare the victory of the democratic revolution in Belarus,” said the head of the Manfred Weber faction.
