The length of the two-stage STARSHIP, which includes booster 4 (prototype of the Super Heavy rocket stage) and the SHIP 20 (prototype of the STARSHIP spacecraft itself) reaches almost 120 meters.

The rocket assembly was carried out on Spacex cosmodrome in the terrain of Boca Chica (Texas).

Currently, the Ship 20 is removed from Booster 4. Spacex plan to carry out separate tests of these steps, after which – joint. The company does not exclude that the BOOOSTER 4 and SHIP 20 bundle can make a joint flight, which will require the permission of the Federal Department of US Civil Aviation.

In August, the company collected Booster 4 with 29 Raptor engines. “This is a massive rocket with a height of about 70 meters and a diameter of 9 meters. It is about twice as much as Saturn V rocket, which launched NASA astronauts to the moon,” writes the publication.

In July, Spacex reported that he built a hundredth engine Raptor.

In February 2019, the head of Spacex Ilon Mask showed the results of testing the Raptor engine, stating that in terms of pressure in the combustion chamber, this power unit surpassed the Russian RD-180 Rocket Engine. The chief designer of the Scientific and Production Association (NGO) “Energomash” Peter Levochkin noted that for methane engines to which Raptor belongs, “this level of pressure in the combustion chamber is not something outstanding.”

In March 2018, Mask stated that Raptor would get the largest traction (the ratio of the driving engine for its weight) among all engines ever operated in the world.
