Chicago: dropped 70 thousand rubber ducks into river

Chicago passed a charity swim, during which several tens of thousands of rubber ducks dropped into the river. It is reported by the newspaper Chicago Sun-Times.

The action was organized by a non-profit charitable organization Special Olympics Illinois, which conducts competitions for people with limited intellectual possibilities. To take part in Derby could anyone who needed it was necessary to buy a duck for five dollars. The toys dropped from the bridge to the finish line through the plastic tunnel with the help of coast guard.

According to the coordinator of the event Alexander McMillan, 70 thousand ducks were sold and more than 310 thousand dollars were collected. These funds will guide charity.

The owners of the highest possible ducks received prizes. The winner got a car Chevrolet Trailblazer 2021 release. The second and third place took a trip to Mexico on the system “All Inclusive” and two thousand dollars, respectively.
