Belorussian athlete Timanovskaya put up for sale medal in protest

The Belarusian athlete of Christina Timanovskaya, who previously tried forcibly to take to their homeland from Tokyo, decided to sell his own medal in protest. The ad appeared on the EBay portal.

It is known that at the request of the athlete, the Belarusian Foundation for sports solidarity put a silver medal at the auction, which Timanovskaya won at the II European Games in Minsk in 2019. The initial value of the lot is five thousand dollars (366 thousand rubles).

According to the announcement, all funds reversed from the sale of medals will be sent to the Belarusian Foundation for Sport Solidarity. Representatives of the Foundation in the official Telegram channel noted that thus athletes decided to support Belarusian athletes, “victims of the regime of the President of the Republic of Alexander Lukashenko”.

“The start was very important to me, he passed in his native walls. For me, many people, relatives and loved ones came for me. I even remember how I cried after the finish, because such emotions have experienced such emotions for the first time,” – emphasized Timanovskaya.

On August 1, the National Olympic Committee of Belarus excluded the Timanovskaya athlete from the national team at the Tokyo Olympics. The reason for its emotional psychological state was indicated. The opposition fund of sports solidarity stated that the athlete tried to take out forcibly from Tokyo. A few days before, Timanovskaya criticized Belarusian sports officials.
