In the State Duma, there was another opponent of the seven-day working week in Russia: Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Mikhail Terentyev called an offer to increase the working week “inexpedient.” He spoke about this RT.
“I think that within the framework of the Labor Code it is impossible today. Because there are guarantees from workers enshrined by the Labor Code,” he said.
He also added that it should be changed “from the point of view of productivity.” It does not always have a rectilinear dependence between the increase in the duration of working days and improving product production or benefits, concluded Terentyev.
Earlier in the State Duma there was an opponent of the seven-day working week in Russia. The Chairman of the State Duma Committee on social politicians and labor Yaroslav Nilov believes that it is categorically impossible to increase the duration of the working week, since people should have time to rest.
On August 7, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship, Member of the Communist Party of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Nikolai Arefiev said that the Russian economy could recover if you increase the working week to six or seven days.
