Rosstat declared a reduction in poverty in Russia. Reports about it “Interfax”.
According to the ministry, the level of poverty in the country decreased from 14.4 percent in the first quarter to 12.1 percent in the second quarter of the current year. The share of Russians with incomes below the subsistence minimum decreased, which is due to the stabilization of the situation in the labor market, the restoration of business activity and the support of low-income families with children from the state.
In addition, in Rosstat they said that the unemployment rate decreased in Russia: from 5.8 percent in January to 4.8 percent in June of this year.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed regularly monitor the incomes of poor Russians and, if such a need arises, to ensure additional measures of social support. “To organize regular monitoring of incomes of low-income groups of citizens and, if necessary, to ensure the implementation of additional social support measures in order to prevent the decline in the revenues of low-income groups of citizens and ensure their growth,” the list of assignments referred to the Council’s meeting with the Council of Strategic Development and National projects.
