Germany will allocate billions of euros for recovery after flooding

Government of Germany will form a package of assistance to flood victims to regions, which will be 10 billion euros. It is reported by Der Spiegel with reference to sources.

According to the publication, half the required amount will be allocated from the federal budget, the second half of the regional budgets. In the future, the volume of funds can be increased. Most of the money will go to the restoration of the infrastructure.

Earlier it became known that the German government will pay 400 million euros as immediate assistance to victims of natural disaster. 200 million of them will allocate the national budget, another 200 million land administrations. If necessary, Berlin promised to seek financial support to the EU Solidarity Fund.

July 12, strong rains in the western part of Germany led to a large-scale flood. As a result, 180 people were killed, more than 750 were injured (as of July 28). More than a thousand people are missing missing. Roads, bridges, houses and streets were destroyed.
