In Russian stores offered to tighten control over mold

The National Consumer Protection Union appealed to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustina with a proposal to tighten the control over the mold in Russian stores. This is reported by Izvestia.

Initiative implies to entrust Rospotrebnadzor to conduct the inspection of outlets to identify the presence of various types of mold in products. The head of the Union Pavel Shapkin said that the control of food in Russia is noticeably declining. According to him, in 2020, 83.7 percent of the checks were conducted less than a year earlier, only 13,904.

Special attention is proposed to turn to the “black mold” or mukormicosis. For this, Mishoustina was asked to strengthen control to implement the microbiological safety standards of the Customs Union. Also, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rospotrebnadzor, with the participation of organizations on the protection of consumer rights of the Eurasian Economic Union member countries (EAEU), should develop amendments to the technical regulations on the safety of food products “and add it to the Eurasian Economic Commission (ECE) for consideration.

“At the same time, the mold affects the whole product, and not only his part. So, cutting off the mold and rot, it is impossible to protect yourself. Careful wash or heat treatment also do not kill mold and mycotoxins, even the cooked product remains infected. Little One infected fruit infects the whole box or box, “explained in the National Union.

Specialists noted that the appearance of mold is possible due to violation of the storage rules in warehouses. In Russian products, the blue, green, pink and yellow mold are most often present. The latter is most dangerous, but it meets less frequently. Head of the Department of Power Hygiene of the Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Moscow Region Nadezhda Raeva explained that at the moment there is a rather tough control over the mold in the Russian Federation and meets high European requirements.

Previously, Roskopka has discovered in three of the seven kefir brands with intestinal wand. Outsiders turned out to be brands “What is needed!”, “Burengino” and “Dairy Kingdom”. Other shortcomings were revealed in them: mold, unbearable milk taste and smell, pasteurization taste, falverate labeling, small amount of yeast at the end of the term.
