Special Representative of the President of Russia for Relations with International Organizations To achieve the goals of sustainable development, Anatoly Chubais warned that the revolution in the energy industry will cause the emergency to change the world elite. This topic was discussed at a meeting in a closed format in June. About this, with reference to a copy of the letter of Chubais with a proposal, RBC reports.
According to the official, global country regrouping is coming in the world, and the new list of leaders will be formed no later than the late 2020s. Next, he believes, these countries will go into a gap and will remain unattainable in the XXI and, perhaps, the XXII centuries.
Chubais explained that Russia can expect a “unique” blow, but at the same time, it opens up new opportunities. He noted that the unprecedented situation is explained by the special position of the country, the role of the fuel and energy complex, natural and technological potential, as well as geographical position.
Current processes of the president’s special representative compares with the technological revolution of the end of the XVIII – early XIX centuries. However, he is sure, the current changes will go much faster, the full transition will require about 30-50 years.
Earlier on August 4, it became known that the government was going to create working groups “to adapt the Russian economy to the global energy transmission”, that is, to a decrease in oil and gas demand. Discussions on this occasion have been going for several months.
Before that, Chubais has repeatedly warned that the refusal of the global economy from hydrocarbons may be expensive to cost Russia, if it does not begin restructuring the economy. According to him, we are talking about 10 percent of GDP. At the same time, in June, he said that the country would be able to maintain the status of the Great Energy, if substitute exports of hydrocarbons for hydrogen exports.
