Duties on the import of certain types of cold-rolled steel from Russia and China, which the European Union entered into force in August 2016, will continue to operate an indefinite period. This was told by the source RIA Novosti in the EU.
The action of restrictions should have ended on August 5, 2021, but to collect money from Russian metallurgists will continue after this date. Fees will be valid until the European Commission decides on their possible prolongation. Discussion of these measures can delay for 15 months.
If they are extended, then for another five years. In the opposite case, Russian companies fully compensate for all duties, which were paid in the period after August 5.
Evaluation of the action of duties to the European Union Market is carried out on the basis of the request for the European Association in the field of steel Eurofer, which is served in May 2021. It expresses the fear that if restrictive measures to remove, the dumping from Russian companies will resume, which will lead to damage to the European industry.
Previously, the pressure on metallurgists strengthened Russian authorities. From August 1 to December 31, 2021, export duties entered into force, with the help of which the government wants to pick up the supplies of companies and stop the internal increase in prices for their products.
Next year, after the completion of duties, they are preparing an increase in mining tax (NPPI), which has already grown in 2019.
