The most popular products from Russians were fruits and vegetables (19 percent in the product basket), dairy products (15 percent), cereals and cereals, as well as meat and fish (9 percent). It is reported by RBC with reference to the research “SberMarket” (online delivery service).
Requirements are not so often the rest of the products. Among them are products for home, snacks, sweets and drinks (8 percent), hygiene (7 percent), preservation (5 percent), cheese, bakery products and semi-finished products (4 percent).
Also in the study are the features of consumer behavior of Russians. For example, alcohol on Mondays is sold more than on Saturdays, and women spend on the online purchase of products on average for more than an hour.
According to Nielseniq, the Russians began to save more and spend less on food and clothing due to rising prices in stores. Now 71 percent of Russians continues to save: 68 percent limit themselves in entertainment, 67 percent – in the purchase of new clothes, 54 percent – on vacation, and 46 percent – in the delivery of ready-made meals and food.
In general, the Russians began to go to the shops more often, but at the same time they buy less products. For example, in the second quarter of the 2021th, the average check in Pyaterochka decreased by 8.4 percent, to 394.1 rubles, and in the “Crossroads” – by 19.4 percent, to 591.4 rubles per year.
