Americans agreed to refuse part of salary for remote work

Almost two-thirds of running Americans (65 percent) are ready to go on a five percent reduction in wages for the opportunity to work remotely. This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the survey of the insurance company Breeze.

US residents are ready to abandon the part of the salary, despite the efforts of employers to return employees to the office. Some companies began to arrange parties at work, play prizes, provide free lunches and yoga classes.

According to a survey, 15 percent of workers are ready to agree with a decrease in salary by 25 percent, if they no longer have to come to the office. Almost half (46 percent) could give up a quarter of the weekend days to be able to work out of the house. Also, employees declared their readiness to abandon the year from using Netflix, social networks and Amazon. The third respondents confirmed that they would donate the right to vote in all elections for the sake of removal.

In mid-July, the financial stability council (SPS) G20 came to the conclusion that remote work was jeopardized by cybersecurity of banks and other financial institutions. During the pandemic, the level of Internet fraud by phishing, malicious software or extortion programs has increased significantly. If in February 2020, up to five thousand cases per week was observed, then in April 2021 – more than 200 thousand.

Pros of work outside the office felt not only residents of the United States, but also other countries of the world, including Russia. At the end of November 2020, the State Duma adopted a law on remote work. The document fastened three basic concepts: remote (remote), temporary remote and combined remote operation.
