Threats of Russian authorities about the prohibition of gasoline exports for three months could not stop the rise in prices for it. The cost of AI-92 at the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange grew on August 3 by 0.3 percent, to record 57.602 thousand rubles per ton.
Previous record was July 22, then the cost of gasoline of this brand reached 55,597 thousand rubles per ton. 1.3 percent (up to 43.399 thousand rubles per ton) took off the price of liquefied hydrocarbon gases (SUG). Diesel grew in price by 0.2 percent (up to 51.48 thousand rubles per ton. Gasoline AI-95 fell by 0.2 percent.
Minister of Energy of Russia Nikolay Shulginov earlier noted that the decision to prohibit the export can be taken after the trading day on Friday, July 30. At the same time, the reason for the introduction of restrictions will appear if the trend on the reduction of stock price will not be sustainable.
The Ministry of Energy on July 30 invited the government to issue an instruction on the launch of the procedure for banning gasoline exports in an expedited manner, but the decision has not yet been accepted. At the same time, all regulatory documents for the introduction of a temporary export prohibition are ready. The agency believes that the situation in the fuel market should be solved by a market manner and not to the detriment of companies, due to the damper mechanism and filling in the domestic market, so that the “long-term predictability of creating”.
