“Russian Post” will begin to deliver heavy drones

The problem of cargo delivery to remote regions of the country “Post of Russia” intends to solve with the help of heavy drones. The first deputy prime minister Andrey Belousov on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24” stated that the first such agreements were already signed, TASS reports.

According to him, we are talking about “technologically extremely complex” structures with a large scope of wings, almost airplanes. For them, they have to build special runways, but the project is in a “very high degree of readiness.”

Belousov announced the launch of the first 48 routes in the near future, but did not give the exact time. He revealed that Chukotka, Kamchatka, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District will take part in the experiment.

At the end of July, Rostech announced an agreement with the “Russian Post” regarding the use of drones on Chukotka. Then it was said about the imminent launch of 48 routes, and it was in these Beloussey regions. However, it was about the devices of a helicopter type, that is, such for which the runway is not required.

The first test of the unmanned aircraft “Mail of Russia” spent in spring 2018. Then a small drone cost 1.2 million rubles was to deliver a two-kilogram parcel at a distance of 15 kilometers to the village under Ulan-Ude, but scored height and immediately crashed into the nearest residential building. Restore the device failed.

A year ago it was reported that in 2021-2022 in Moscow plan to create special zones for testing the delivery of goods with the help of flying drone.
