Multifunctional Space Relay System (MKSR) “Light” successfully completed target tasks during the docking of a multi-purpose laboratory module (MLM) “Science” with the Russian segment of the International Space Station. Through the repeater channels “Ray” using the broadband system, the negotiations of Russian astronauts with the Center for Flight Management TsNIIIMASH (included in the Roskosmos State Corporation).
“Science” – a multi-purpose laboratory module of the Russian segment of the ISS. It is intended to implement the Russian program of scientific and applied research and experiments and expanding the functionality of the Russian segment of the ISS. The launch and output of the module into the orbit launch vehicle “Proton-M” took place on July 21, 2021.
To ensure the docking of the “Science” module with the ISS, satellites “Bump-5a” and “ray-5b” were used, onboard equipment installed on the Russian ISS segment and ground infrastructure. In total, from July 25 to July 29, 16 relay sessions were successfully conducted. On duty shifts in normal mode performed tasks for planning and monitoring relay sessions. Target information was successfully obtained and brought to end consumers.
