Ministry of Foreign Affairs rated threat of Taliban for Central Asian countries

The militants of the “Taliban” radical movement (prohibited in Russia) do not pose a threat to Central Asian countries in the near future. This was stated by the director of the Second Asian Foreign Ministry of Russia, Zamir Kabulov, reports “Kommersant”.

Diplomat rated the level of popularity of radical moods among the Taliban. “According to our estimates, about two-thirds of this movement, including top management, are configured to the political decision of the Afghan crisis,” he said. According to Kabulov, representatives of the Taliban are tired of the long conflict.

The diplomat concluded that the young generation of militants was radically radically due to the lack of a feeling of the Motherland, which was the result of a long stay in the camps for refugees. He also added that at the launch of “meaningful, effective mezafgang negotiations” with the Taliban will have to be considered as with an important player.

Earlier, Kabulov said that negotiations between the Taliban and the Government of Afghanistan on a peaceful settlement in the country will be painfully. He pointed out that it is necessary to be “realists”, making forecasts for the Afghan conflict. According to the diplomat, Russia “pragmatically” approached the negotiation process with the Taliban.
