Deputy of the Seimas of Latvia from the National Association “All for Latvia” – “Fatherland and Freedom / DNNL” Janis Dombráva proposed to allow employees of the border service to apply weapons in the event of an illegal crossing of the borders of migrants by Belarus. It is reported by Baltijas Balss.
According to him, against the background of increasing the flow of refugees, this can prevent the aggravation of the migration crisis in the country. He explained that the border guards should immediately take measures to curb any attempts of illegal migration, and not to spend time on the establishment of migrant personalities. In this regard, the shooting of illegals is represented by a deputy well-founded.
Dombrárva added that the other preventive measure of combating illegal migration in the country can be the introduction of fines against refugees, up to confiscation of property. “We should not try to repeat the mistakes that many European countries have done during the previous wave of refugee migration to Europe,” the politician said.
Previously, Dombrava declared the need to attract NATO troops to resolve the immigration crisis at the Lithuanian border with Belarus. In his opinion, illegal migration from the countries of the Middle East to Europe can acquire the nature of the military invasion.
