State Duma considered project on sanctions on “Northern Flow-2” challenge for Biden

Counteracting “Northern Flow-2” by the US Congress will be a serious challenge for President Joe Bayden. Such an opinion in its Telegram expressed the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky.

“For Biden, this is a serious challenge. The American administration really has to prove that the United States may follow commitments to their European partners,” he indicated.

Slutsky believes that American congressmen continue to “live in their reality.” However, on the launch of SP-2, all these “ritual dangers” are unlikely to be able to influence, he found it.

On July 30, the Chamber of Representatives of the US Congress approved the draft law on financing the State Department for 2022. One of the articles implies a ban for President Joe Bayiden to cancel sanctions against the “Northern Flow-2”. “We expect that the presidential administration will hear our signal and make a priority European energy security,” the author of the initiative explained the representative of the Democratic Party from Ohio Marcy Captures.

Previously, the Republican Senators’ Group has supplied an ultimatum of the US President Joe Bayden because of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. 12 Parliamentarians led by Pet’s Tumi threatened to block the appointments to the US Department of Finance, if the government does not change its project to implement the project and will not introduce new sanctions.
