Former Kyrgyz Prime Minister announced voluntary return of Akayev

Ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev, who was wanted, voluntarily returned to Bishkek and went to the State Security Committee (GKNB), said the former Prime Minister Felix Kulov. Reports about it 24.kg.

Kulov said that he met with the current president Sadyr Zaparov.

Earlier in the GKNB reported that investigative actions are held with Akayev. The former president is a person involved in corruption in the development of the Kumtor’s gold deposit.

Askar Akayev headed Kyrgyzstan from 1990 to 2005. He left the country after the “tulip revolution.”
