In Russia, sales of smart watches for the first time ahead of sales of fitness trackers. This is reported by the newspaper “Vedomosti”.
The publication refers to the report “M.Video-Eldorado” for the first half of 2021. According to the company, from the second half of 2020, sales of smart hours and fitness bracelets were equal, and from the beginning of 2021, a fracture occurred. In total, 2.5 million devices from the wearable device segment in the amount of about 22.5 billion rubles were implemented in Russia for this period. 55 percent had a smart watch, 45 percent – for fitness trackers.
According to representatives of the retailer, the clock for children began to use noticeable popularity. “About 10 percent of the total segment accounted for children’s watches that help parents track the location of the child and stay with him in touch,” the company noted.
The leader in this segment remains Apple whose 40-millimeter model Watch Series SE has become a bestseller on the market. Next, the list is the flagship Apple Watch Series 6 with a 44 mm Case and 44-millimeter Watch Series SE. SAMSUNG GALAXY Watch Active 2 and Apple Watch Series 6 with a housing for 40 millimeters also hit the top 5.
In the rating of fitness trackers, the leadership retains the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4 and Honor Band 4.
